Since 2002 we have been organizing the biocat conference series, which focuses on the rapidly evolving fields of biocatalysis and industrial biotechnology. The preceeding International Congresses on Biocatalysis held in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018 in Hamburg attracted participants from over 40 countries.
The Extremophiles2022 Congress, aims to bring into light all recent updates of basic and applied research on “life in extreme environments”. As a result, the program will include sessions in many aspects of “extremophilic research” including, among others, origin of life, ecology, astrobiology, molecular biology, physiology and biotechnology, as well as a special workshop on Mikrobiokosmos (the Hellenic Initiative for Microbial Diversity).
In parallel, the organizers aspire for Extremophiles2022 to provide a stimulus for high quality research interactions, to inspire young scientists and students through networking with senior and established scientists, and to pave the way for a bright future in this exciting field.
Topic: Full utilization of biorefinery by-products, a profitable path to sustainable circular economy
In this application-oriented webinar, the partners of the BMBF-funded consortium project ELBE-NH and the CBBS took a closer look on the challenges and opportunities of modern biotechnology. ELBE-NH is a North German consortium in the BMBF project “Increasing the Effectiveness of Lignin Biorefineries by Supplementary Use of Hydrolysates” (duration 2019-2021).
The Extremophiles Congress has a long tradition of almost a quarter of a century. In order to keep the scientific community in touch, a free two days WEBINAR was organized by the International Society for Extremophiles (ISE).
